Wellsville is a village in Columbiana County situated on the Ohio River in Yellow Creek Township covering an area of 1.91 square miles. It is located on the Allegheny Plateauforty minutes south of Youngstown, west of Pittsburgh PA and north of Wheeling, WV, and only thirty minutes from the Pittsburgh International Airport.
As of the 2010 census there were3,541 people, 1,475 households, and 957 families residing in the village.
Founded in 1795, Wellsville has a rich history dating back to the pre-Civil War era, was an important part of the Underground Railroad, and has many preserved historical landmarks today maintained by the Wellsville Historical Society.
Wellsville is undergoing an expansion due to a53,000 barrel per day gasl-to-liquids "GTL" facility that is being built by Baard Energy, L.L.C. through Ohio River Clean Fuels, L.L.C. The facilities are being constructedin 3 phases over the next several years.

Wellsville students attend Wellsville Local Schools, which includes Garfield Elementary, DAW Middle School, and Wellsville High School.
